If we take preventative measures and close do we have to pay staff?

Whilst you owe a duty of care to protect your staff an employer also has a duty to provide work for your employees if they are fit and well. Therefore, if your staff are well  and  are willing and able to work but as a precautionary measure you are instruct them  to stay at home, they have a right to receive full pay.  If the employee is able to work from home then they should receive full pay.
